How to Clean your Tile and Grout Lines

Professional tile and grout cleaning is one of the most effective ways to maintain the condition of your home and tiled surfaces. According to studies, indoor air quality can be two to 100 times more contaminated than outdoor air, and the accumulation of debris, dust, and pet dander can cause chronic illnesses. Fortunately, there are a variety of practical and safe tile and grout cleaning solutions available. Here are some of the most common options.

Tile Cleaning Options

1. Hire a Professional

Hiring a professional tile and grout cleaning service could be an amazing way to get a shining surface. A professional will clean your surface using powerful equipment and will be able to tell you exactly what steps to take to avoid damaging the surfaces. Following the cleaning, the specialist will apply a sealant to the tile to keep dirt and spills from entering the surface and causing permanent damage.

Professional tile and grout cleaning will begin by cleaning the tiles and grout lines with a product designed specifically for your tile type. Depending on the material of the tile and grout, the cleaner may include chemicals that are hazardous to your home. Because of this reason, it’s important that tile and grout cleaning is only done by a trained and licensed professional. Hiring a company that provides a comprehensive cleaning procedure is the most effective way to clean tile and grout lines.

2. DIY – Hydrogen Peroxide Mixture

To start cleaning your tiles, use a broom to remove surface dirt and debris. The majority of loose dirt can be eliminated by sweeping or vacuuming. Wipe off the wall tiles and walls to remove persistent stains. To remove grease and oil-based residue from grout, use hydrogen peroxide with a little amount of dish soap and baking soda. Allow 15 to 20 minutes for the solution to settle before using. Scrub away at the spots until they are gone.

Next make an additional cleaning mixture of hydrogen peroxide, a cleaning agent, and dish soap to scrub the tiles and grout lines. Allow the cleaning agent to settle on the floor for 5 to 10 minutes before scrubbing. Cleanse the tiles with a brush until all the dirt and grime has been stripped away. The more vigorously you scrub, the deeper the solution will penetrate and break up dirt.

3. DIY – Vinegar Mixture

Remove any loose debris and surface grime before beginning to clean your tile and grout. Then, clean the area with a mix of hot water, soap, and vinegar. Allow it to sit a few minutes before beginning to clean. Then, using a brush, cleanse the area well. Using a toothbrush is a great tool to scrub the grout lines . Use a soft-bristled brush to get into cracks and crevices when cleaning wall tiles.

You can begin cleaning the grout when the tiles have dried. A hot water, soap, and vinegar combination can also be used. After the mixture has steamed, scrub the grout with a soft-bristled brush. Apply a sealing coat to the tile and grout when the solution has dried. This will help to prevent discolouration and staining of the tile.
